Brass fittings were used throughout the entirety of the home to add warmth. The Brass also creates a soft contrast to the hard surface of the tile and stone. When designing, the environment is always important to consider - being at a higher altitude means temperature's are generally cooler than the residents city home, so warm colours and textures were used inside the home so that it feels warm and welcoming even in the cold of winter.
When designing this home, the client had a strong aesthetic and ideas they wanted to incorporate into the build, so we ensured the design features were throughout the home to create a cohesive look.
The interior of the home has a modern lodge look and feel, with v-groove paneling and beams used to accentuate the height of the ceiling. A timber slatted pendant was used in the living space to denote the area but also to add a warm contrast against the white ceilings.
A feature wallpaper was used in the entry to combine different colours which were used throughout the home. The dark kitchen has a mottled stone benchtop which molds into the natural surroundings of the lake. A large fireplace with custom textured plastering is situated in the Living room to add warmth and create a focal point. Each of the three bathrooms has there own custom tile selections and layout to add interest. we also choose to tile only some walls to add personality to the space.
